Robot fundamentals 3+3hp

(This module has been replaced by Introduction to robotics, 6hp, which runs each Fall, August to December. This is a slightly modified version of DD2410, where the exam is replaced by a report. Contact Christian for details.)

These modules cover the fundamentals of robotics, such as kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, navigation, sensing, hardware, along with an overview of application areas. The course consists of a 3 hp theory module, and an optional 3 hp add-on lab module, in which the students will demonstrate some of the fundamental concepts in simulation and/or on physical robot hardware.


The course is primarily intended as an orientation for students who do not work on robots in their daily work, but want to get a broad understanding of the field of robotics.

This course will be given once as part of the preparation for a MSc level course that will start in Autumn 2018. This means that the course will start in Period 3 (after Christmas 2017/18).

The course starts Tuesday Feb 13 13:15. The course will have two lectures (almost) every week. Tuesdays 13-15 and Thursdays 10-12.
